Twenty years after they split, the five women of L5 are back together for an unexpected project that ties their comeback to a major children’s movie and a fresh single. Fans who grew up with their early 2000s hits are suddenly getting new material and a rare full-lineup reunion tied to a cartoon blockbuster.
How a Popstars win turned L5 into a 2000s pop fixture
In 2001, a TV talent show on French television created a girl group that would dominate pop radio. The program selected five singers—Lydy (Loïsy Joseph), Marjorie, Coralie, Alexandra and Claire—who became known as L5.

Polska pregnant and betrayed by a close friend: she is very, very shocked
- Their breakout single, Toutes les femmes de ta vie, became a shock hit.
- They released three studio albums before the group split in 2006.
- Since then, reunions have been rare and usually partial.
A surprise single drops in June 2026
On Wednesday 10 June 2026, the group unveiled a brand-new track titled Encore et Encore (Toi tu es là). This marks L5’s 11th single since their debut in 2001.
The song credits highlight a contemporary songwriting team: Adé (formerly of Thérapie Taxi), Sylvain Duthu (ex-frontman of Boulevard des Airs) and producer Pierre Cheguillaume.
What the single means for the band
- The recording session reunited all five original members for this specific project.
- Fans are interpreting the release as a high-profile comeback tied to media exposure.
- Industry observers note the collaboration with modern songwriters signals a refreshed sound.
Why the reunion is linked to a major animated film
Rather than relaunching with a tour first, L5 accepted an invitation from Paramount France. All five members agreed to lend their voices to characters in Pat’ Patrouille : Mission Dino.
The film is the third cinema adaptation of the hit cartoon franchise and opens in French theaters on 5 August 2026.
A single in the movie’s end credits
The group’s new song will play during the film’s end credits. That slot gives the track a broad, family-friendly audience.
For comparison, the original English-language version of the movie featured a recording by the Backstreet Boys. The international voice cast also includes stars like Jennifer Hudson, McKenna Grace, Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg.
